Prague has everything you could ask for from a European city break: a fairytale landscape, art and history, and affordable food and drink. I’ve been to Prague once before, but this summer, the city really struck me upon return. There seemed to be less stag-dos and a calmer, more romantic atmosphere (from what I saw anyway).

The Vltava river runs through the city of Prague, both sides connected by many gorgeous bridges (including the famous Charles bridge), and surrounded by grand gothic architecture. Prague is perfect for families, couples, and friends alike, as there’s something for everyone.

So if you’re thinking about going to Prague this year, or maybe booking a trip in 2024, then this is your definitive guide to Prague — including places to eat, things to do, and where to stay.

Things to do in Prague

I’ve visited Prague twice, and both times I did different activities (although I did return to the castle — how could I not?) proving there’s plenty to do in the Czech capital. Here are my top eight things to do in Prague.

#1. The Klementinum

The Klementinum is a baroque library, first opened in 1722. You can book a tour to climb the astronomical tower and view both the library, and the views from the top of tower — stunning 360 views over the city. However, you can’t climb the tower or see the library by yourself, you’ll have to book a slot, and tickets cost around £10.
